The Brazil Agency for Technical Norms, in conjunction with INMETRO, have declared as of January 2010, all plugs for electrical equipments manufactured or imported into Brazil must be of a new format. The design will be of 3 pins (Class I) or 2 pins (Class II). On Class I, the middle pin is slightly out of line with the outer two. They will use these formats regardless of the voltage utilized in a particular region.
