Market Surveillance for Product -

Electric Fan - 2008

A municipal market surveillance* for Electric Fan was performed in Shanghai during the third quarter of 2008 in accordance with National Standards GB 4706.1-1998 and GB4706.27-2003.

Totally 51 batches of electric fans were inspected and the qualification rate is approx. 66.7%. The nonconforming items mainly concentrate on 6 items:

1) Marking and Instruction;
2) Protection against access to live parts;
3) Abnormal operation.
4) Stability and mechanical hazards
5) Supply connection and external flexible cords
6) Terminals for external conductors

Measures adopted (partial) by the Administrative Department:

- Corrective Actions must be taken in a limited period and will be supervised by local administrative departments.
